Summer Membership FAQ

Below are the answers to our most asked questions about our hockey membership. If you have a specific question that is not listed below then please contact us.

When does the summer programme start?

Sessions begin on the week commencing Monday 22nd April

How many weeks does the programme run for?

Ten weeks (there is no session during the may half term)

How much does the summer programme cost?

10 week courses are £90

There are two options for my age group, which one should I sign up for?

We offer two evenings to maximise flexibility around summer sports. The two sessions will be similar in design. The £90 cost covers one session per week.

I am not a current Guildford Hockey Club member can I sign up for summer hockey?

Yes, we have a large group of players that attend winter and summer hockey programmes at Guildford hockey Club who stay at their home club for regular junior and adult hockey.

I am part of the Year 4-9 Future Stars Programme, should I sign up for the Summer Hockey Programme?

Yes, the summer programme includes the Future Stars players.

Who are the coaches for the summer programme?

A team of experienced coaches lead each session, led by Director of Hockey and Double Olympian Dan Fox.

What will sessions involve?

A combination of skill acquisition and practice, alongside opportunities to improve game understanding and teamship skills. The programme relates to the Great Britain Talent System Framework; more information can be found here: Great Britain Hockey Talent System Framework.

Will I be able to train and play with older players or different age groups?

We have planned for age groups based on the 2024-2025 season to train together. This gives players who were the oldest in their 2023-2024 age groups the chance to play with older players, and those who were young in 2023-2024 the chance to gain more leadership opportunities.
